Description

Telugu Cultural Association is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. a. To educate, promote and preserve the Telugu language, music, dance, fine arts and other performing arts associated with the Telugu culture within the local community. b. To accept donations and distribute for charitable, educational, cultural, and humanitarian causes. c. To cooperate and coordinate with similar organizations to pursue the above objectives. Telugu Cultural Association (TCA) is a non profit organization formed in 1976. The non profit corporation is organized to educate, promote, propagate, preserve the telugu language, literature, music, dance, fine and performing arts, so it enriches the telugu community of Houston. The TCA has been keeping the cultural traditions alive here in the city of Houston for 35 years. TCA executive committee contains 7 members elected every year. TCA celebrates Sankranti, Ugadhi and encourages participation by members and various other organizations. TCA conducts Telugu Literary competitions every year. In addition, TCA also hosts Vaagesyakarotsvam and Sidhendrayogi Jayantotsavam - an exclusive Classical, Semoi classical Music and Dance festival to promote Indian culture. Furthermore, in the recent years Telugu Badi – Telugu School has been started to teach the language of Telugu to the community. TCA also organizes community picnic in the fall to follow our tradition of vanabhojanalu and promotes youth development programs by hosting seminars. TCA organizes special cultural events with the various artists visiting from India. TCA encourages upcoming poets, writers by publishing their articles in “Madhuravani” magazine. TCA supports Nela Nela Venneala – a literary program by Sahithi Lokam, and also Swaramadhuri - a musical program for upcoming singers. TCA support, cooperate and promote relavant local non-profit organizations.
